So I just bought a used 125 gal. for $150 It is in need of much tlc. The tank has a drilled bottom that i am going to be plugging. So the piping that was in the tank was pulled out before i got it, so the drains are unplugged. Also he did not use bulk heads, just pvc a silicon. So here is the question. Would you go ahead a cut out all the silicon and reseal the entire tank at once including adding glass patch on the drilled bottom?, or put the patch on, fill the tank and, hope it doesn't leak, know that if it does i will have more work ahead of me, and the patch won't look as clean? I am leaning to just resealing the entire thing over again because some of the seams seem a bit sub par anyway. and it will make for a better looking glass patch job, plug, for the drains.

Instead of adding a piece of glass to cover the hole, why not just put in a bulkhead with a plug? As for resealing, that is up to you. Just be sure you do it right if you choose to reseal.

#1 bulkhead and plug cost more cause i need 4 bulkheads, #2 i figure the entire aquarium is really held together by silicon so i don't see why it wouldn't work in this regard either.

It's easy to make a bulkhead plug for a few dollars. I made one in my recent thread here. However this might not working depending on how your stand is built.
