I have a 4" EBJD ( mr sparkels) that I have had since he was 1" about 9 months ago. He is a great fish really fun outgoing I love him. But he does not seem to fit in. as he gets older he gets more bossy. He always trys to start fights with my True Parrot who wants nothing to do with him. She holds her ground but would rather he just left her alone.

Mr Sparkels hurt Kiwi the parrots lip today in a lip locking face off. besides that they never do much damage. I'm going with more of a amazon theme and my EBJD just does not fit in. I really really like this fish but I'm not sure if I should keep him.

What to do? I would only let him go to another fish person not just anyone.

The tank is a 100 gal ( will upgrade once they out grow this tank)
1 True parrot 5"
1 Red severum 3"
1 blue acara ( going to sell her soon) 5"
1 EBJD ( what to do with him) 4"
3 Pictus cats 4"

I'm going to be adding two 5" Uaru I just rescued. They are still in the hospital tank for now.

I'm thinking sell the EBJD and Blue acara to make room for the Uaru. I don't know I really like this EBJD but my other tank he could go in has smaller fish like tetras. hummm.......I know I will miss him:(

I would probably sell him if I were you. If the aggression is out of hand and you have the room, which you do, then why not sell him and use the money to get some different type of cichlid, maybe some geophagus or keyholes. Whatever you do, I hope it works out for you, Good Luck

Get another tank. :)

Trying to get another tank is like pulling teeth. My husband is not down with the fish tanks. I'm working on upgradeing my 55 gal to a 80 or 90 gal when I find a good deal. I could move some of the little fish around. Yeah I think I can make it work when I upgrade the 55 gal.

Yeah I should not let him go. He is my baby. He is not overly aggressive just a little jerk at times. The parrot can stand up to him.

Thanks.

yeah and im sure once the parrot gets older then it will be her pushing him around lol

you could try smuggling a tank into your basement lol worked for me
