Hi, how did you manage to get your picky fish to eat market shrimp? My fish only eats live food, I been starving for 2 weeks now. Ive tried Krill, Pellets, Silversides, and Market shrimp. Everything is just looked at with no interest, but with the market shrimp the fish kinda shows some more interest than usual. But still wont eat it.

Do you guys wiggle it at the surface, or just toss it in, or use some object to mimic the shrimp to look live? I would really like for the fish to eat pellets, but it wont and I think the market shrimp might be more probable. If it does take the shrimp, I will stuff it with pellets. But I got to get the fish to eat the shrimp first. Several members here have told me theyve gotten their fish to take market shrimp over everything, so I need to know what you guys did to accomplish this. Thanks

i would take it a wiggle it at the top and alos take a shis ka bob and put it at the end and act like it was smiwwing and they would come up and hit it

what fish do you exactly have? what iam doing is starve him and mix it with a fish that eats anything ,he will soon realize that what you are putting there is food,if you have big fish put a big carp or koi as trainors

my peacock hasnt eaten in a month and half til he accept pellet

two things:

1.you will train your fish
2.your fish will train you

Well, the fish I am trying with is a Chinese Perch. I read a bunch of stuff that says this particular fish doesnt get a feeding response by smell, like lots of fish do. I been starving it but I dont know how much longer the fish can hold out. I cant use a teacher fish, I tried and he attacked one of them and tried to kill it, and the other he tried to eat. I got 2 tank mates with him and they do alright, the BGK eats almost anything and eats in front og him but he doesnt learn anything.

What I read about Chinese Perches is they react alot to movement, and also there has to be a specific texture and size of the food item. If its too moist or to dry they will spit it out, which is probably why he spit out the freeze-dried krill. Some people on MFK managed to convert them, but I also know some members who are in the same boat as me. Its a really tough job.

well i have a mangrove jack, clown knives and a channa micropeltes on pellets now,i train all of mmy fish to eat pellets..

the best way for me is using teacher fish...
especially when it comes to delicate species like baby pbass.
my 1 inch tems are already eating shrimp because they watched the gars and SH on the other side of the divider eating it.
it has worked for all my fish.

I just starved mine for a couple days and threw a shrimp or two in there. in a hour of so if it was still there I took it out. In a few days they took the shrimp easy even my L375
