That is the question...

I just moved and I have an empty 20 long with heater 30g filter gravel etc, I was just wondering If I should set it up and if anyone could recommend something cool to put in there?

I am open to any suggestions, Like any fishkeeper an empty tank of any size is like a blank canvas that I can paint with fish!

Personally, I would do one of the following A) US native tank, put on a power head an rocks from a local river. Stock with stuff like a few darters, madtom or small bullhead catfish species, and one or two dwarf sunfish or a single larger sunfish(put not one that will get bigger than 6"). B) setup for a single Honduran red point, then have some catfish species patrolling the bottom(like cories, pictus, synodontis), maybe a pleco of some sort like a L129. C) just a single somewhat lager catfish like a hoplo, bullhead or Raphael. D) a school of exodon tetras or Pygmy piranhas.

That's what I'd consider. What direction are you looking to go?
PS: the pics are from my option B tank. It had a pearl Honduran red point and three synodontis petricolas.

those sound like some pretty interesting ideas, I like the exodon idea but they don't seem to be available all the time just sporadically. I might set it up and leave it for a week or 2 and then when i next go to a good fish store maybe buy something for my 225 that needs growing out a little

I'm leaning towards grow out because all the fish in my 225 are between 4"-9" so no real monsters yet. if I found a cool fish that was tiny for a good price I could grow them out, thats what I did with my bichirs and irwini catfish until they hit the 5-6" mark, really didn't take them that long

What do you plan on?
