Well today me and a friend went to the pet store and we were looking around. I think I should have a job there because I get asked more questions then the workers. It started off with a lady looking for a lizard. She was asking the person working there about iguanas and she said that she wanted one of those because they only grow to the size of thier enclosure:duh:. I kindly walked up to her and told her that they grow to like 5' no matter what. Her expression was:WHOA: . I then kindly escorted her over to the anoles and lepord geckos. I think the people were annoyed but oh well... Then my friend who works there comes over and gets me... Some lady asked him a question about some fish and he had no idea. I told her all she needed to know. Then I stuck around for a while and she came back and didn't even bother going to any workers:grinyes: and came right to me with more questions. I felt so special.... Haha. Just thought I would share....

i did the same thing one day and the owner offered me a job on the spot. i took it and have been working for about 5 months now. btw im 15
 
I am also 15 but they won't give me a job till im 16.

I want to get a job at my lfs im going to ask this weekened....Im only 15, I wonder if Ill get it. I dont care if I have to take out the trash or sweep floors the enviroment tho is jus awsome.
 
ive got so much free crap, its great. great discounts too.
 
I'll talk to you guys in a few months when you're selling your tanks and leaving the hobby (I worked at my lfs for over a year and it nearly ruined the hobby for me).
 
Just make sure your information are correct.

When I worked at a petstore, some smart ass would always come up while I'm conversating with a customer and pretends he knows more than me. Of course he doesn't. :p
 
I've thought about working at an LFS, but the more i think about it, the more i dont think i would like it.
I think mostly because talking to the general public makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a fork.
