A friend of mine asked me to photograph fish for their company. I received two boxes of Cory Cats (Urusgua?), L-49, long finned albino ancistrus, long fin chocolate ancistrus, and a bunch of other weird looking pleco and ancistrus.

This is my beast...the 14" cichlid killer. I took one shot of him tonight just to kick start the thread.

I am going to let the fish settle in over the weekend then start photographing them one at a time. I will update this thread as I get the photos.

Beautiful shot. Gibbiceps plecos are one of my favorites.

I labeled what I remember in the beginning of the post. I would have to look at the bags ans get the rest. I did this before with the African cichlids. I gave those to a local Children's Cancer Hospital for a fish tank int the reception area. Likely will end up keeping some of what I have and giving the rest to a local pet store. In my tanks they're just feeders.

Thanks folks. I'm biting at the bit to get snapping. Maybe something this morning.

Just about done with the project. Hardest fish I EVER had to photograph...they're dirty, they hide under things and behind things...so I had to come up with some interesting ways to get them to conform.

I will make a more detailed post talking about various steps...trials and errors....and post the best of what I took.

...and every once in a while you get lucky and the fish just line up nice.
