Today is a sad day...

Yesterday I did a large WC due to tannins in the water from a new piece of driftwood I added about 2 months ago. Went out for a night with friends, barbecuing, a couple glasses of "Amazing" (new drink we threw together with Hypnotiq, Parrot Bay coconut rum, and Sprite). Came home after a while and *sniff**sniff* my 10 inch Ornate Bichir was turned over in our tank, stiff as a board.

Immediately freaked out and tested the waters. Everything was 0 with the exception of phosphates.

This is my tank

125G bare bottom

1 16" Silver Arowana
1 12" Senegal
1 8" Albino Senegal
2 14" TSN

Until recently 1 10" Ornate.

The TSN tried eating one of my other 2 Delhezi but spit them out after finding it wouldn't fit.

Ornate shows no signs of distress, no marks of tried to be eaten. So I am a bit lost on this one.

that is a shame... do you have a picture of the recently departed so we can all celebrate the good life your ornate had!

Hes already in-cased in a tomb of cellophane packing tape and a zippy bag

He was a vibrant green and yellow color...almost like a frogspawn or hammer coral but in ornate patterns. He was one of my prized fish other than my red finned silver aro.

a sudden change in water parameters would kill your fishes/

I thought that same thing, but the tap we have came out near perfect.

I am running 2 405s, Hydor 5, and another filter/powerhead kind of thing on the tank.

The only additive i ever use in any set up be it FW or SW is Prime.

The temp of the tank is around 78-80 depending on the time of day. The water I used was just at 77.
