Today's new pickups.. Dovii & Fire Eel

Well first is the dovii that I picked up.. it's about 3" and has a ton of black spots so I'm crossing my fingers for a male. This pic is while stressed, even more spots then this normally.

Next is the fire eel. I told my LFS that I wanted a fire eel for the 120 gallon tank that I'm setting up for my Red Wolf Fish, bichirs and rope fish. Well he called me today and told me he got one in for me. I was expecting a 4-6" Fire eel, nope, this guy is 16" long and fat. It's in the 55 for now while my 120 finishes cycling.. oh yea he's sweet!

Awesome pickups! The dovii looks a lot better then most juvies i've seen and the fire eel is deffinately a nice pickup. I'm sure PP would pay a premium to get your new fire eel.

How much did those two set you back if i may ask?

I know.. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the black gravel.. it's making me second guess the pool filter sand I have in the 120.. I should have gone black sand but I didn't want to pay $75+ for substrate..

That fire eel is hideous. You should definately get rid of it.
