My goal is to have whatever cichlid I keep, breed in my tanks (although this goal is often unfulfilled), and once they have had a successful spawn, I like to pass the pair or fry to another aquarist with the same goal. I also try to never (or seldom repeat fish)
I started keeping cichlids back in the late 1950s, and back then the cichlids available are what might be considered common now, (oscars, firemouths, convicts, Texas), so as time passes I try to search out the more seldom kept species, or at least those that have not spawned in my tanks in the past.
Funny though, H nicaraguense and C multispinossa have been common here for decades, but this is my first time with them.
And, they don't need to be new world, I'm open to all.
