Alright, as promised here is my new tokay in her home. I know they say female Tokay's don't bark much but mine has already barked at me soo..
The background gives full credit to VF, as I copied him almost exactly. That really should become a sticky as it's cheap, easy, and looks professional.
Here's a pic of the beaut, I already know what a tokay bite feels like thinks to her.
Ignore the random plastic container, it's what they sent her home in. Looked a little cramped to me, but she's all in 1 piece so it's cool
This build accomplished 2 things: 1 getting the home for my tokay built, and 2) testing my ability to sneak (see: not very sneaky) into random wooded areas behind homes and play with my new reciprocating saw to get some wood for the tank.
The substrate is dried moss mixed with cocofiber. The background and substrate are both cocofiber, and I barely used half a brick!
Ignore the blur, I wanted to get a good shot without flash. The lighting/heat is 1 IR incandescent heat bulb. Right now the humidity is about 60% and she isn't yet comfortable in her surroundings so she's been stuck to 1 spot in the wall since I put her in.
She's really skinny, so I hope it's that they weren't feeding enough and not internal parasites... we'll have to see. If she doesn't start fattening up I'll run a poop sample by the vet to have it checked.
Lay it on me!
