Tonca's Birthday

I recently returned to the museum where I used to work so that I could help them move a 125lbs alligator snapping turtle (Tonca) for a media event and a check up. I have been involved with this celebration for 4 years now and I have moved this beast a total of 8 times. here are some pictures. I drew his blood and got a fecal float and he has been given a clean bill of health and is doing very well for being 44 years old!

awww. come on, i think he is beautiful! wouldnt want to kiss him though... i could only imagine what those lips would feel like... OUCH!
