anyone take into consideration that tone plays a part into causing offense to other people on this forum?, errrrrrm what i meant was lack of tone, since we cant hear voices through a keyboard im assuming people take offense to posts that where not meant to be offensive because they assumed the "tone" the wrong way

im sure that when most of us read a post they imagine that person who wrote it is saying it.

is anyone catching on?

True but 90% of the posts here don't need tone to read that it is in fact offensive.

It's better to reread and make sure you think how your reply will sound to others and not just yourself.

You should try it sometime. That way you won't piss off as much people.

Agreed completely.

I think everyone needs to assume that every post is a couteous one. I've never put someone down or made a harmful post, but I've often seen them on other forums. Just remember that most of us act like adults and the moderation team can take care of the rest.

Very good question...... I've been told on several occasions that i come across "harsh" or "over the head" of most readers........ its gotten me into some fun flaming wars online LOL...... communication online at its best is only 2 dimensional....... leaving the imagination to fill in the blanks....... my problem is that i write on a welm without proof reading to see if i may come across other than my disired affect....... I'm not saying i'm not the "donkey" that i may seem...... I am...... those that know me will tell you so LOL...... but its for good reasons.........

*in a calm non threating voice* "SHUT UP YOU PANSY".......

Any post that seems to direct offence toward others should just be ignored. Retaliation just add fuel to the fire and encourages the SOB trying to cause harm.

I recently came from another forum, which at one time was a moderator, but I couldn't take the childish behavior and lack of imformation/experience, which I bacame a member for in the first place.

Not necessarily ignoring the imformation in the post, but rather keeping yourself from making rude comments back to the individual.:D
