too early to ID new pbass?

Ok i picked up 3 new fish this weekend, a peacock bass, festae and bichir for under 20 bucks! I want to know if its too early to ID this pbass. anybody know? the pbass is only 2 inches.

Looks stressed, how long has it been in the tank when you took the pics..
To young to be sure what it is.. but im guessing mono or ocell due to the sloped head.

dont think he's too stressed. he just ate a ghost shrimp and 2 guppies, still chasing at more guppies! but hes only been in the tank for 2 days

Did you pick him up at your LFS? What was he labelled as?

yea picked him up at a lfs..no sub name, just peacock bass. i hate that about main-stream fish stores...

these are mine....all mono's.

So, my guess is mono.

Yea hard to tell due to the size. He could be displaying like that because of the bare bottom tank. All my baby cichla didnt like bare-bottom and only displayed decent markings after i added gravel.

Yeh it sucks.. try being in australia.. Every sp of cichla is labellebd peacock bass..
