My two orino peacock bass decided its time to grow, it eat 3 times as fast as my other fish, it will chow down any feeder (lightning speed / its for my big datnoid) and fight with each other all the time (sign of hungry)

Here is the problem and concern

They eat so fast that my other "shy" fish doesnt get any. I have to dump a lot of food to just get my "shy" fish to get a little (the rest is clean out by the bass)

Should I control the amount of food that the bass consume by separating them from the rest? or just let them be?

When mine did this I would feed them rosies until they were so fat they sat in the corner probably feeling like idiots for eating so much. Then the others can have a field day. Just remove leftovers. It's pretty hard to over-feed pbass.

you could always give them to me haha .

okay well throw some feeders in a side were the peacock bass are then at same time throw the other food in the tank for the shyer fish. or. scare your bass by showing them your hand dont tap on the glass. and then throw in the food it give enough time for your other fish to come out.

Haha! LOL I had the same problem with my bass too, so i sold all of the occels & monos and just kept the azuls with my other fishes. Try teach your Dat to come to the water surface for food and drop it right next to its mouth if u wana boost the Dat only, mine learnt in the 2nd day i bought him. For other shy fishes, try feed the whole tank with small feeders, so everyone will be able to grap a bit and not letting the bass eat too much. Throwing in small feeders in different corners of the tank would help too...

lol your going to have to dump alot of feeders in at once or feed the other fish a type of food that the cichla refuse to eat... your first mistake is keeping shy fish with cihla it just never works :grinno:
