I'm planning on running a sump with a floating media chamber followed by a wet dry trickle chamber. On a 210, is 1100 gph too little? I'm looking at slowing it down a bit just for contact time with the k1. Opinions, should there b more gph? 2 hystrix and a dozen geo red head, I will also be running 2 hydro v sponges.

should be fine.....you want a turn over rate of about 4-5 times an hour, the more times your water passes thru the filters the better

I've been told a turnover of 10 times is good but just wondering if slowing it down a bit to about 4-6 will help with bio contact time in my floating media chamber.

Depends on the amount of bio/mech filtration. If ur sump is very efficient then it needs less compared to something less. Also depends on the fish. Generally more the better

You could be moving 5000 gallons an hour that does not.matter, it is the means in which it is filtered. Moving 100 gallons of water through just a cotton media is not then same.100 gallons that goes through a series of mechanical and biological filtration...so don't think of it so much as quantity , but as quality.

Perfect...thanks guys. I'm planning on a mech filtration chamber followed by floating media, then to a wet dry with ceramic rings below that then return to the tank. Twin 1" overflows and twin 3/4" returns through a mag drive 12. Any suggestions, also again I have 2 hystrix, 9 redhead tapajos, 3 surinamensis and a steindachneri. Will also be running a hydro v possibly 2.
