I have a 175G bowfront tank with:
1 Oscar (4”), 4 Severum (5” no breeding pair), 4 Electric blue Acara (3-4.5”), 2 yellow earth eaters (5”), 1 Pleco (5”). No issues with the tank. Just had someone mention that I had too many when at pet smart getting food. (They like the cichlids crisps)

I was following the 1 in pet gallon rule but I hear that’s more myth than fact.

Hey and welcome to MFK! The tank may get a little full eventually, some cichlid savvy members will chime in soon ;)

Some say a cubic inch of fish per gallon, but regardless it is no real way to stock a tank. An inch long guppy has a lot less mass than an inch of oscar for example.

But guppies are ravenous beasts of sea.

Im currently growing a guppy to someday rival that of a great white but back on topic the tank may work for a while but I do hope that you are planning to upgrade when the fish need it.

Welcome aboard

I Agree with Duane.

You may be fine in terms of aggression, they are all SA cichlids which mix pretty well. Bio-load will be high once they are all large, I think the 300 sounds like a good upgrade. What kind of eartheater are yours? Post pics if you don't know and we can probably ID them for you.
