I have a 90gal corner tank with 3 oscars 2 jack dempseys 2 convicts and 1 pleco. I use 2 fluval 404 canister filters. is my tank overcrowed?

Yeah, I would say so. Of your 3 oscars, do you have a pair? If you do, then you could get rid of one of the three. Might want to think about losing one of the jack dempsey's. But 90 gallons should be fine for 2 full grown o's, a jack dempsey, a pleco, and a couple of convicts.

90gallon is not suitable for 3 oscars, yet if you have more fish in it.
to properly care for a pair of oscars, you'll need at least 125gallon.

and you can leave the jack dempsey and convicts but becareful when they(convicts) are breeding, they WILL kill the jack dempsey!

and what kind of pleco do you have? if it's a big specimen, take it out.
if it's asmaller speciemn, leave it!

but that's kind of sad for a 90gallon, so maybe couple more small fish would be nice.
-jack dempsey
-convicts
-add MORE fish!!

i'm not gonna burn you to bad but you do have a hillbilly tank, honestly you need a 75gal tank for just 1 oscar to live comfortably. Just take all your fish back to a store and let them get the fish off your hands. I usually suggest turning up the heat and cooking them but thats inhumane. Look online at african cichlids, you might want to stick with the lake tanganykians because they stay smaller than the malawi's and victorians. You can do alot with a african cichlid tank, read up on them, i'm sure you'll get cichlid fever and fall in love with them. Tanganykia has sand sifters, shell dwellers, rock dwellers, syn cats, goby's, eels puffers, and so on. PM me if your at all interested and i can get you some links to great sites. Also get rid of that piece of junk fluval and go out and buy yourself a eheim or atleast buy another fluval and add it to the tank. Always overkill your filtration.

For a 90 gal. Corner?? Yes it is to short of length for your fishes to swim around... it would be better if it was a 90 gal. Long... well until they get almost to adult size.

before we all jump on the flaming wagon.....how about a few questions what size are they now?....have you seen any aggression out of them?....if they are babies you are bit overcrowded and will need to upgrade because of the size the fish you have grow to and also because of their aggression they all are aggressive cichlids which means in the future as they grow there will be mass fighting especially if you have pairs of any fish....most fish when they breed become very territorial and kill all their tankmates.....so my suggestion to you would be to pick out which fish you like the best and keep them....or keep one of each kind of fish so that way you don't have to worry about a breeding pair

First Hiya Scott! Welcome to MFK.
2 fluval 404s is good on a 90g, as people have said, the 90g coner does limit the fish size because of the shape, also oscars are hefty fish when adults, I am not real fond of them but for that style of fish I allow a minimum of 30+gallons for each adult in a community tank. There are people here who stock even heavier than your tank, but I would consider losing one of the oscars at least.

Thanks for the advice . Ive only been keeping fish for about 6months. the biggest of them is one of the oscars and he is maybe 4 in long. Im not even sure what kind of plecostamus i have , but he is about 10 in long. I would like to keep at least 2 of the oscars, and get rid of the convicts. i also have a 125 gal rectangle tank. Im not sure what to keep in it . Any suggestions?

you should move 2 of the oscars to the 125 w/ the pleco.

Look at Kentobizmol's list in his signature for a 125g tank, would work nicely and you could even add 3 silver dollars or tinfoil barbs.
Your 90g will work at 2 oscars and no convicts.
