Hello everyone. I have a 180 gallon tank with a bonded pair of crenicichla cincta which are 14 inches for the male and 10 inches for the female. I have a 9 inch pair of heros severus atabapo as company. I am adding two 8 inch astronotus ocellatus bahia red from Rapps and a large L-029 vampire pleco.

My question is, can I add some Caquetaia Spectabilis into the mix or am I pushing the limits? I have 2 FX5 filters, 2 powerheads and I do weekly 50 percent WC's.

Please share your thoughts. Thanks!

Those are six big cichlids and a pleco which is a high bioload fish on its own. I don't know that I'd push it with more large cichlids. As it is, you may find that you need to up your water changes depending on how often you feed.

I lost my youngest from wetspot. I picked up an adult wild caught pair from shark aquarium. Beautiful strain with the red blush on head and shoulders. I'll take pics soon and post on the crenicichla forum.

Rocksor, do you have an opinion on my stocking?

That's too much for 180, I used to have 180g setup for a pair of Jag and I'm already feel it's too small for them (male 14 inches and female 11 inches).

Personally, I wouldn't add anumer and I would only stick with the 2 cincta with the severums. You have enough bio-filtration, but the issue is the amount of water changes required to reduce the nitrates to below 20ppm.

I have lots of pothos and lilies growing out of the top that keep my nitrates down.

Here's an old pic to give you an idea.
