What's up guys?

So in the event I persuade my dad into letting me get a 90g tank in the living room I have a question about filtering the tank.

I've decided to make my own sump with a 20g long and use a Mag Drive 18 with a 5' head height that'll make the flow around 1200 GPH with a CPR CS202 overflow which is rated for 1200 GPH also. (Anything wrong with that idea? Overflow and return pump wise?) I'll construct my own spray bar for the return from the sump.

But since the tank will most likely not be drilled water will just be coming from the top of the tank. What about the bottom area of the tank in regards to debris in the gravel/sand ect?

Do you think adding a Rena XP3 (350 GPH) will create too much water movement with the sump set up also? (1550 GPH all together)

Unless I'm wrong I don't think the overflow will be getting anything on the bottom of the tank thus making me need another type of filter in addition.

Thanks,
Brian

if you just use a spray bar at the surface as a return, then you could simply add a small powerhead inside the tank directed at the bottom to help prevent dead spots and to keep detritus in the water column so that it is more likely to be removed by the overflow.
