Thanks in advance for any help.
Currently setting up a Fish only FRESHWATER tank.
It is a 125 Gallon Reef Ready with dual internal overflows which will be plumbed directly into 2 Eheim 2080 Filters, rated at 450 GPH Each. The height of the output nozzles (top of overflow) will be at around 6 feet high. Is this going to be too much flow ? Will the fish need calmer periods of flow or will these pumps being run constantly be ok for the well being of the fish ?
Yes i know its overkill to have 2 2080’s on a 125 but i like having the extra room and diversity for mechanical/ bio /chem etc. But i also like having NOTHING in the tank (ie: powerheads, suctions, outputs etc)
Ran a 110 high with 1 2080 and a 2217 and it was the cleanest tank i have ever seen with frogs and oscars etc. so now that i got my 125 i was going to put 2 2080’s.
Thanks for any input.

Honestly that sounds perfect. No way is that too much flow. I’ve ran a 125 with two Eheim 2260’s and downright loved that combo. Crystal clear and tons of bio capacity.

Great feeling getting your setup rolling huh?! Happy for you and yes please post up! I love me a good build thread. Please tag me when it’s up!

They'll be fine! That's a really mellow amount of flow to be honest.

I have a 150 that I've been running for years. Back in the early teens, I was running about 10,000 gph through this thing to simulate a riverine biotope. None of the fish had any problems handling it, though there was a learning curve for new fish when added to the tank.
