I have 2 pairs of marbled cons. My first pair spawned about a month ago and now the month old fry are in a 10g theyre about .5". I also have 2 week old fry from my 2nd pair and theyre in another 10g with the parents. When i removed the first batch of fry from my 40g community the pair spawned again lol. Im planning to take out the parents from the 10g when the fry get a little bigger. I have a 20 long in storage and im planning to use it as a grow out tank for the first and 2nd batch of fry. I have a 135 already set up and almost done cycling. Im gonna move my community there and use my 40 breeder as the last stage grow out tank for the fry.
I feed the 1st batch of fry crushed nls, live bloodworms and mysis shrimp. The 2nd batch get crushed nls and ground spirulina flakes. 3rd batch are still eggs. The 2nd batch only being 2 weeks old already tried to eat live bloodworms when i fed the parents. They were successful at getting little chunks too.
Am i doing anything wrong with raising the fry? I do biweekly water changes on both 10g with fry and leave the temp around 80-82. Is there anything else i need to do?
Also, if anyones is interested in the fry I'm gonna give them away as long as you can pick up. If not I'll use them as feeders for my salvini. I'll give anyone who takes them 2 pairs from both batches to keep the line pure.
