I have a 200 gallon tank that I've had setup and stable for a good year now with the same cichlids in it.Along with the 2 Aquaclear 500s and 2 Rena xp4s I already had on the tank,I decided to add a Rio 2500 powerhead inside for extra movement and an airpump underneath that so the bubbles get sucked up by the Rio and chopped up filling the tank with microbubbles.I cleaned out the Rio before using it so i know thats not the problem but my fish have started acting like they've lost their appetite and just aren't as active.Do you think these "microbubbles" or extra movement could be a little too much for them or it is simply a coincidence and something else is going on? Thanks for reading...

Turn off the powerhead and and see if they start feeding again. I'm running a fuval 403, FX5, Ehiem pro III, and 2 2600 seio power heads and a air pump in my 220 and no problems.....

I have not found high levels of water mvoement to negatively affect appetites...

I've never put microbubbles in my tanks on purpose, so I can't say much about that...

Personally, I would turn off the bubbles (leave on the current) and see if they act normal... if not I would turn off the extra pump and see if they return to normal...

While doing so, I would look for other possible explainations.

Depends on the fish but high o2 levels are generally always good, check, all other water params and post back
