Too much sand?

Hi. I just put some pool filter sand in a month ago and I'm wondering now if I put too much in? It's about 4-5 inches deep through most of the tank and wondering if that could cause any harm to the fish somehow? Would it be worth it taking some out? Thanks (Its a 90 gallon btw)

When it comes to sand, I barely past the 2 inch mark....Personally, I never do all sand tanks, too much sand is shifted around with the current my big filters put out...So, I do gravel around the sides and back, making a half moon center....I fill the center with sand.....

4-5 inches of sand is over board for me, I'd bring it down to 2-3 inch es....

Unless its a heavily planted tank, its way to much.....2" is about right other wise...
