is this too much lighting for a silver aro this is all stuff from home depot will this even work any help is appreciated thanks conro

I can hardly see your design.

I would ad that aro's are not very keen on a lot of light....

the top there are two 3 ft with two grow bulbs in each with 50 watt grow bulbs
on the bottom there are two metal halide spot lamps 300 watts apeice do you think and aro would like this and do you think that plants would grow

I know some plants would really like it. Fully planted w/ a ton of discus would look cool.

Are you trying to grow plants or keep an aro? You'll blind your aro with that much light and probably make it very skittish. Not to mention that if you DON'T have live plants with that much light you won't see in the tank due to the amount of algae that will grow on the glass and in the water.
