My pike loves to be right there when I'm gravel vacuuming. Monday I was cleaning my 240 gallon tank. I was leaning over and way to the back behind a rock pile when I sucked him up the gravel vac tube. I didn't notice for like 2 minutes. His nose/mouth is still a bit red. The whole front of his face was stuck right in to the tube where it goes from the hard plastic tube to the flex hose. It's a python. I didn't see him eat yesterday and havn't fed that tank yet today. I'll see what happens after work. I think he'll be just fine. When I sucked him up I thought I had just hit a catfish with the tube and startled it. I wonder if he'll still be so curious next Monday when I change water again.

poor fella..... hope he gets over the trauma.

He should be aight, I would add some Melafix to the tank though for three days at least incase he gets some sort of infection or what not. Will also help wit the healing. They have jaws made for eating large fish, so they are expandable and stuff like that, so it should get back to normal within a few days. Sure it surprised it pretty good though!! What type of pike is it eh?

It's a sextallus. I think I spelled that right. I was watching what I was doing. Well the best I could standing on a chair leaning over the tank to the back side behind a rock pile.

Anyway. He seems okay now. Still just a tad red around the lips. I'm looking forward to my water change on monday to see if he's still as curious. :naughty:

now you might want to watch out cause it might go crazy and end up jumping.

I was just thinkin the same thing. normally when fish come close to dying, they are scared of that object for quite some time!!

Changed the water today and gravel vac. He was right there checking everything out the whole time the python was in the tank. Named him George, curious george!

Dave

He's 100% now.
