Cichla Sp. Rio Xingu. So far, the only info I could find is that Cichla melaniae, mirianae, and pinima inhabits Rio Xingu (for the most part). He's about 3.5". I know it's extremely hard or maybe impossible to ID but I'm hoping someone can spot something I missed.

While the others color up at sunrise, this guy seems to remain pretty washed out. I placed a black background but that only helped so much.. might need to get some dark substrate. He's the shyest of the bunch but eats well.

When I first got him. Both are Sp. Xingu. Different camera, only sunlight

Nice growouts.

thanks!

xingu possibly...update em again in a few weeks.

personally love pinimas but I'm leaning more towards xingu... if it is any of the above.

sorta temporary lookin

i sure hope so! the tank is sitting on the carpet temporarily while I build my cabinet so that might be the culprit to the washed out colors. also, those LEDs don't do jack but make everything look flat and yellow
