Took 3 weeks but I finally got them

Today at work I got a phone call from the petco next door telling me that after weeks of trying and trying they we’re finally able to get there hands on some Asian stone catfish for me and the hot in today and they are so freaking cool and beautiful I love them. I got 6 for my 29g. Here’s the best picture I could get.

Nice that you have a petco that special orders, not all of them do that. One by me said it would and then nothing happened…I got my Raphael eventually.

Interesting that you or the petco know these as Asian stone catfish. I know these as moth catfish or anchor catfish, the family Hara. One of my favourite small catfish.
Asian stone catfish to me are a different fish, family Akysis (although I know these as more stream catfish than stone) .
I find it interesting what people call different fish.
Good luck with these, not as bad for hiding but similar to your Raphael.

Lucky you. My petco near me wouldn’t bring in any fish for a customer.

Before a Petco closed near my house I could special order fish but I never did. It depends on who is the managing the store or fish department. I worked for a another store similar to Petco and my assistant manager would special order fish for me from Seacrests Farm.

Nice pickup! The Petland (Canada) that I like to visit sometimes, will order stuff for me, but I'm also good friends with the fish department manager, so that might have something to do with it

It's always good to have a rapport with the fish department staff.

Yea my petco will print me a copy of the fish they can get in next Monday if I ask for it and there’s anything I’m interested in I either text or call them and they reserve the species under my name and wait for them to get in and call me when they do. I also ordered the blind cave tetras from the same petco.
