where my cichla are
I'm Catherine.. my hubby has already introduced himself and our fish. unfortunately i'm on the kid's computer and i don't have my fish pics in here.. i'll add them later if i figure out how.

the tanks are a 75 gal angelfish and baby peacock bass grow out tank.. actually it's supposed to be just for angelfish, but the peacock bass i bought were too small to go in with Dozer and the snooks. So, we have 4 angelfish, 5 3 inch c. ocellaris, 12in common pleco (Kirby), a fish we were told is a bumblebee catfish (same body type as a redtail only with yellow and black stripes and a red or gold tail) but he seems to have vanished into the great by and by.. haven't seen him since the day after we bought him.

in the big tank (4 x 2 x 2) we have Dozer 8 in c. ocellaris, a breeding pair of red bay snooks (Rudy and Flo) currently watching over eggs.. i hope we have babies (can't see inside the castle). 3 4inch common plecos (hoover and the twins). 2 approx 4inch blue crayfish (Jake and Elwood). Mystery snails and 3 big pond snails. (needless to say we have no algae.. )

in the 100 gal tank we have the oscars (affectionately refered to as pigfish), Rocky and Toni. Rocky is a red oscar, (s)he used to change colors drastically from a beautiful golden orange to nearly black in just a matter of seconds. And Toni was sold to us as an Albino Tiger Oscar, but she quickly lost her spots and is just the most beautiful golden orange color i've ever seen in an oscar. They are both about 6 inches long now. And Lucy, the redtailed catfish, she's about 12 inches now and still growing. Almost forgot Crabfu, the last surviving thai crab.

we also live with wolfdogs, big dogs, snakes, lizards and a bird.. lol

welcome to the site. were all MFKers after all.

Welcome, they all look good. If he didn't get eaten first, you may not see that cat again until he gets big enough to start eating tankmates.

thanks, i'm pretty proud of the whole group.. especially my peacock bass.

the thing with that little catfish is that he's in the tank with the most hiding spaces, and the smallest and least aggressive fish, EXCEPT for the 12 in. pleco.. i don't think the pleco will bother live fish, but i just can't be sure because he's about 4 times the size of everybody else and more like 10 times the size of that little catfish guy. The LFS guys said he should get to be about 15 inches long. i guess we'll see. and i'll post pics as soon as i see his face again.. lol.
