Tropical fish keeper's, Aqua Alex is kicking off the week with another Aqua Alex Top 10! Tonight, LIVE at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT, I will be counting down my Top 10 Favorite Catfish of all time! Catfish are one of my favorite species of aquarium fish! They all have amazing personalities and range in size from small (2'') to huge (over 2 to 3 feet). What catfish species are my favorites? I will also mention some honorable mention catfish as favorites.
I will open the show with photos and a video of the current catfish that I am keeping! I will also answer any questions regarding catfish!
Join me LIVE at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT on my personal Facebook Alex Cardinale and my YouTube channel The Legendary Alex Cardinale. (Links in event description!)

1: Pictus catfish (this is actually one of my two #1 favorite aquarium fish of all). Active, attractive long whiskers, eye catching jet-black spotted pattern on a silver background, compatible with my other #1 favorite fish (clown loaches).

2: Zebra pleco. Only 1/10 the size of the common pleco tankbuster, looks just like a zebra's pattern, and (as an interesting deviation from the typically herbivorous plecos), is carnivorous.

3: Red tail catfish.

4: Sailfin pictus catfish.

5: Tiger shovelnose catfish.

6: Zebra shovelnose catfish.

7: Asian red tail catfish.

8: Asian upside down catfish.

9: Black devil catfish.

10: Marble walking catfish.

3-10 look almost as nice as pictus catfish and zebra plecos in terms of their various patterns, with several also having the very long whiskers and high activity of the former, which is why I admire them. But they don't rank in 1-2 because:

a) They're too aggressive to be housed with pictus catfish, clown loaches, and zebra plecos (applies to everything).

b) They'd eat pictus catfish and clown loaches (applies to everything except the Asian upside down catfish, and in some cases it might get big enough to do that too), as well as zebra plecos (everything).

c) My level of Monster Fish Keeping is not quite high enough for them (save for the Asian upside down catfish) - they will get too big for a 473 liter.
