Hi all, pardon my incompetence 
I'm working on a sort of entry-level large tank (150G), and my first acrylic. It currently has a full top with two access covers as seen in the pic. I'd like to convert it to a more open top for a multitude of reasons that I won't bore you with here. I guess euro-braced is the correct term for what I'd like to do. Basically, I'd like to leave a 2" wide lip around the whole top. Is that going to remove too much of the structure? If so, would leaving part or all of the center brace intact help?
