Top dwelling zebra pike tankmates?

Hello MFK!

I am looking for some suggestions for South American fish that would look great at the middle/top of the water column with some Crenicichla zebrina in a large tank with a lot of surface agitation. Any ideas?

What size of the aquarium?

Middle: Astronotus, Heros, Hyselecara, Hoplarchus, Cichla, Caquetaia,etc. almost any and all deep bodied medium to large SA cichlids would fit the bill.

Top: Arowana, Triportheus Angulatus, Boulengerella species, large Chalceus Erythrurus.

All depends on tank size.
