Is there any type of fish that would ne mostly a middle to upper level fish in the water column. They would have to be ok with JD's and oscars. The tank is 60 x 19 x 26. Just making plans for stocking. Thanks guys.

Hujeta gars/barracudas. Needle nose gar. African butterfly fish. Arowanas.

Where in south Florida are you at?

I would say FW Barracuda if the cichlids aren't too aggressive.

I like the idea of an arowana, but I with my tank being only 60" long and 19" wide and arowana's growing 24"+ there is not a large turnaround room or swimming room for that matter anyway? What do you guys think? I don't plan on upgrading to a larger tank. Thanks for the suggestions, and I will look into them. AnDr3w, I live in Pembroke Pines.

I like the idea for the needle nose gar. I have seen they can grow up to 12", is that correct?

And the fresh cuda up to 9"? How does that sound?

Yeah, probably not enough room for an aro in there. Agree about the chalceus though, great fish and I've never had a problem with them & the O's and JD's you mentioned.
