so this is a product review for anyone curious about this product. I will post a photo after.
I ve been running the 40 gal version of this product for about 2 months now in my 40 breeder. I ve got mostly good things to say about the prouduct. The spray bar fits snuggly ontop of the unit which can be rotated 360 degrees without any functional issues or flow change. The media inside gives you a mix of mechanical / chemical and biological. You can swap out any of hers with ease if you so desire. The clear compartment case is also a plus allowing you to see waste/debris build up to aid in helping you decide when to clean it. It also has a switch on it to control the flow which offers a great range of flow types.
I have only incurred one negative thus far. There is a rubber end cap that sits in the end of the spray bar which now has been ejected from the spray bar due to the pressure of the return. I ve tried to push it back in and it sits in the bar for about a second if that before being ejected again. Solution at first was to press the end of the bar with the cap in it up against the glass. That however is temporary and I plan to use some silicon to hold the cap in place sadly this means I ll have to remove this unit from my tank. Luckily this filter was an extra filtration option I added to the tank along with a cannister and HOB as this breeder is overstocked and has been used as a quarantine tank for a large stock of new fish I had received. I’m moving half of the stock to another tank so I have the luxury of not needing the unit at all. I know for some ppl this may be more of a nuisance and inconvenience so I wanted to put this info out there that this issue has the possibility of occurring and if you own this unit be prepared for if and when it does.
