Torch coral expanded too much!?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks like a frog spawn not torch. What kind of lighting? It might be stretching for light. Sometimes after I feed mine will look like that. As long as water parameters are good you should be fine. Also what kinda of flow is it exposed to? Doesn't look like any from the picture.

The lighting. Is an led light and the flow is moderate since im only runninv a filter that is rated two times above the one for my tank. I know he needs medium light so i moved him to the bottom of the tank which is 15 inches from the light

No - that does not look like Frogspawn........ It takes days sometimes weeks for corals to completely acclimate to a new enviorment. While this is occuring the xoozanthellae algae is moving, expelling into the water column, and then rebuilding. Also keep in mind that alot of pet stores don't feed corals period, they feed purely on light until sold and you probably just placed the coral in an enviorment with more bacterial + solid food sources than it's recently been in, in otherwards - It's hungry from mobile zooxanthellae and lack of food.
