:naughty: My wife surprised me two weeks ago and brought home a torch coral (Branching Hammer or Branching Anchor Coral, Pom-Pom Coral). Every once in awhile it has these long brown threads coming from it. I've tried searching to see what it is and have had no luck yet. Anybody know what it is. By the way whe it does this all the fish seem to hide.:1zhelp:

is this at night my thought would be it is the corals sweeper tentacles which is nothing to worry about but do give the coral space from others of at least 10 inches

they are used for protection from other corals and a way of fighting corals who are close thus the reason for the space needed between corals or you'll surely lose a coral if it keeps getting stung by sweeper tentacles
