Hey guys. I have some very basic questions. Now I have a tank at work and we're discussing what we can put in it. Can we put a stingray in there with gravel. We cant put sand in cuz it will screw up the filtration. And does it need any salt. We only have freshwater tanks so I know very little next to nothing about salt water tanks and fish.

Sorry, totally missed the general discussion panel. Scrolled down to fast lol

What sort of ray do you want?

You need to be careful with substrate when it comes to bottom dwelling sharks and rays, lots of people use sand because it is gentle on their skin.

Tank Size would be great.....in the saltwater business anything less then a 75 gallon tank is considered a "small" marine tank lol.....I got a 72 gallon close...

I am now to the point where I consider my 125 "small". I would say anything over 125g is "large". :D

Yea, I checked, there's no way we can put sand in there. I would have to look up which ray specifically we can get.

lol....i was expecting an answer like "I can't put sand, because their is holes on the bottom...duh!".....lol but sand wont really cause any problems to the filter unless you stir it all up while the filters are on....just turn them off when your doing a vac or moving rocks and stuff.....good luck
