Ok so I'm wanting to go about putting some plants in my 260gallon indoor pond I have set up for my Red Eared Sliders. I'm wanting to know what all I need(and estimated cost) and what special care I'll have to start doing when I introduce plants to the pond if I want to keep them growing good.

I'm looking to use some of the following plants as I've read they are quite good for them.

Anacharis
Duckweed
Water Fern
Water Hyacinth

The pond is a 6' circle about 15" deep currently had 2 small comets and about 30ish rosy reds in it along with the two turtles one at around 3 inches and one at around 6. might also be getting 2 more turtles most likely babys. Its filtered with a Beckett pond filter of some sort rated for 350 gallons and is kept around 73-75 degrees.
That's all the info I can think to include if anything more is needed just ask

Thanks

For all of those plants, any ambient light from windows should be enough. These are all very low light plants, and your turtles will most likely eat all of them.

There lies the problem its in my room in the basement which only has a small window just enough to get out of in an emergency. so any recommendations on lighting should I just hang a strip light over the pond?

I have a basking lamp set up for em its only a 50 watt atm, was fine for the 30 they were in but were gonna be getting a 75 watt and a 5.0 or 10.0 uvb we bought a 2.0 due to a lil misinformation. we also have a plain compact florescent bulb(i think thats what it is but its just a normal coil like light bulb) above the pond for some extra light since the basking light and uv dont add enough light.
Should that be enough?
And should I get any type of fertilizer for the plants or just let em grow without it?

I would probably recommend plants that can grow emersed...Roots in the water and leaves Above the water.

If they eat it and its good for them that works to I mainly want to add more greens in there from them to nom specially since my bigger one Koopa should start moving towards more greens but she doesn't want to eat much aside from her pellets and a minnow that makes the mistake of getting too close
