I just bought a NIB Marineland Magnum 350 PRO for $50 out the door. Gotta love one base stores have 75% off sales on stuff they're never going to sell.:)

I thought you scored a girl....

Anyways still awesome :)

Id recomend doing the foam mod to it before you use it. Plecocaves.com sells the kit if you aren't up for the diy aspect. It cleans alot better, adds great bio, and you olny have to service it once every month at the most.

I'm not quite following the filter mod. I'd like to improve the magnum I have on one of my tanks. Could someone explain this a bit more?

Gratz on your score, Rifle!

It basicly replaces the carbon cannister thing with a piece of pvc with lots of holes drilled in it, then a piece of poret faom slides over the pvc. Its a genius design. I had to clean my 350 every 5 days or so before, now I only change it every 2 months or so. There is hardly a decrease in flow.

^^^this is the link to the poret kit, or you can build it yourself, but for $30 shipped it was well worth it imo. Not quite as good as the micron filters, but a lot Better and cheaper in the long run.

Ok, I might not be using the bio wheels because I‘d have to cut the top of my tru vu and I really don‘t want to do that. Man this SOB is comlicated.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm definitely setting this up. Can I still run carbon in the PVC tube?

In theory you could run the carbon if you used one of the media bags. I'm not sure though, I've never used the carbon. Not a big fan of it. But this mod basicly turns the 350 into a sponge filter that still runs around 300gph. I LOVE mine.
