It's from a CT scan of my deceased clown knife. Definitely doesn't fit with the spirit of the no modification rules for POTM, but it might be able to escape on awesomeness grounds.
The animal died of natural causes and was subsequently imaged post mortem. This satisfies all research animal use and ethics concerns. The visualization used is called a MIP (maximum intensity projection) and is commonly used for display of 3D volumes as 2D images.
