I have this dark green almost fuzzy algae taking over. Not a light issue, I tried keeping lights on for an hour a day for a week and nothing it remained....not sure where it's coming from. Anyway, it doesn't budge when I scrape it. Its on the rocks, glass, filter intakes, everything.

That is quite some work...its on nearly everything. Thanks for ID'ing it for me.

As far as I know, the Siamese Algae Eater is the only fish that will eat this type of algae, if you wanted to go the fish removal route. Just make sure you get true SAE, as other fish are often sold with this name.

you could try hydogen peroxide. squirt it directly on the affected area. in small sections at a time. Just try and keep the fish away from where your squiting it. Only do a little section at a time with an hour or so in between dosing. this will definately kill it.

Use the biological grade 50%; I put 1/4 teaspoon in my tank daily and it knocks down the BBA well; this is the active ingredient in Seachem Excel that people use to knock it down with but buying the glut directly is a lot cheaper; my tank is 260g;
