what makes one fish soo much tougher than another that are the same size strenghth, just asking becouse i just got a jag and im going to keep him with oscars and jd. they almost look the same other than coloration. why is it always the jag that beats up the oscars? what gives the jag the ability the thrash around another fish of the same size and strength

kinda... i think that would be more like comparing an oscar to a feeder. tigers and dogs are nowere near the same size and strength. oscars and jags are close to the same size and strength

Its all about personality. Just like people. Some people will beat up other people, others wouldn't think about hurting another person. Some are simply meaner and more agressive than others.

so if there were a abnormally aggresive oscar that had the same personality as a jag then it would be safe to say that it could be just as tough?

definatly. i only hope that my jag will play nice with the oscars.

I think the jag has stronger jaws and more body mass (in general) to a similar length oscar.
Thats what my experience has been anyway.

wise man once said, "it's not the size of the fish in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the fish" ... it may have been confuscious or socrates, I'm not sure which.
