i have a 40g breeder im setting up(getting close to completion) for my bichirs but as for right now have them in a 29g tall and i was looking for something that would be more of a bottom feeder, mix up the sand a bit more then my bichirs do, wont out eat the bichirs and not eat all the plants.

i was thinking corys but they are kinda too small... but i cant think of much that would work in this situation

im stumped...

pictus cats, spotted raphael cats, and many synodontis cats would work well.
pictus cats are super pigs

rapheal cats hide why to much...

ive had both

raphaels may hide but they won't bother your bichirs at least

i've heard syndontis sometimes will eat bichir slime coat so i'd avoid that combo

All of my bichirs live with synos. The only species I've ever seen show an interest in the bichirs is the new brichardi I just got. He hasn't sucked on them, but he piggy backs them around the tank from time to time, swimming just above them. The other 6 or 8 species have never done this after 11 years with the bichirs.
