3 months ago my big datnoid did not eat any market shrimp, krills, or beefheart... only feeders. So i went to the pet store and got $1 worth of big feeders. One of them was big enough to survive the torture of being gulped several times with no success. I decided to take him out and put him aside in a bucket.

To cut the long story short.... he lived in the 5 gal bucket with full of java moss and 2 medium size driftwood. I would put some food for him. He survived his injuries and did not sustain enough damage for him to die. but he was badly tortured by the datnoids.

Winter is fast approaching california... our temp at night falls down to almost 50F. I just tested the water and it read almost 55F. and found out the carp (AKA Goldfish Feeder) was still alive and kicking. I find the cheapest fish to be the toughest of all the fish I have... What's your toughest fish?:D

few days ago i had a few fish die in my pond.
i was getting them out when i noticed one was still a little alive.
he was so close to death.it was a warmouth. :WHOA: didnt even know i had it.lol
so i put him in a small net and had the net hold him up the right way,and at the top of the water.
left him like that, came back a few hours later.
he jumped out of the net and was swimming around.
i was like :WHOA:
he is inside now and doing good. :headbang2

Toughest fish without question in my armament is the my single remaining angel fish. She survived 3 mates, and has taken on numerous infections.

My toughest fish is definately my parrot. I bought it when I first stocked my first tank (a 55G). It survived my monthly maintenance which at that stage included a 100% water change and sometimes cleaning out the filter at the same time ... and then nothing for another month or so. I went through many fish back then, be he's been there through it all. (don't worry, it's now 50% weekly ;))

He's also survived 2 moves, and is now living happily in my monster comm..

Would have to be my gator gar, he broke thru my glass lid and ended up underneath the tank. I noticed he was missing at 3AM, when i got recalled in to work, didnt make it back home until almost 7AM at which point i started the search for him, after a few minutes i found him in an empty media basket underneath my tank. His fins were red, and he had red spots all over his body, i thought he was dead but as i put him i picked him up he flinched, so i reintroduced him into the tank. From there he sat on the bottom and twitched a whole lot. I raised the temp, and salted in hopes he would pull through. about an hour later his fins and body were almost back to normal and he was swimming normally again. later on that day he was feeding as usual.

that would be my betta. he survived 2 months in a bowl (I didn't like it any more than he did), and cycled my 10G tank. he has gotten over fungus and fin rot, and survived a fall of 5 feet onto hard linoleum, which knocked him out cold.

one could not ask for a more durable fish.

A guy I work with has an indestructible BN pleco. He has a small tank, does hardly any maintenance, goes away for weeks at a time and leaves the tank, has had dozens of fish die in the last couple of years from various things, and the BN just keeps growing and growing. Shame such an awesome creature has to be taken care of by such an idiot

Toughest fish I have is my leichardti.

He has dropped from 6ft heights onto a tile floor twice. He has also broken through glass twice.

My Female Con seems to be my toughest.. Lived thorugh Ich twice in two different tank swaps and both the males died, one in each...

My Big Feeders are in water that is currently 35 degrees F :) which is of coarse a natural and not surprising deal :) as long as my water doesn't freeze to the bottom LOL i will have them next summer as well :) But none af them had to survive being re eatin several times... LOL

My common pleco is my toughest fish! one of the first fish I bought, he has survived 2 cycles (was new and didnt know what I was doing) 3 tanks and a knifefish that didnt like him. :naughty:
