I am a decent bass angler and my 2 friends are in tournaments all around the southeast, GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, AL, ect... So i also want in, can somewhat compete with them, considering one is 2nd in the state of GA! So anyways, what are some tips/pointers about tornament bassing and different methods you guys kill em with. So far i kill w/ weighted lizards, cranks, lipless cranks, and spinners. Still improving the topwater and worming.

well here the top water hasnt kicked in yet but all black or white (1/4) buzz baits will catch you a quick five fish limit. Alot of people say top water doesnt always catch the big ones but what i have noticed over the last five years is that it will catch you alot of keepers(15"s).

thats very true. I was watching a Bassmaster Elite tournament and one guy used only topwaters, got 5 fish, and won the tournament! All his fish were MONSTERS because he used topwater 100% of the time. Mostly platic frogs liek the dog walking ones and popping frogs.

well i hope it works out for you and maybe in a few years ill see you on the water sometime. I could go on and on about different lures to use and where and when to use them. But my new fav baits are the booyah chatter bait (boogee bait) they work well in spring when your covering lots of water looking for fish. they are great for fishing over and in weeds just hold on tight and keep it moving.

yeah missed my local tourny but there is a big one going to heppen in may.

yea my friend hooked up a 10lber off a 1" chatter bait lol. I mainly stick to:
lizards/worms in rocks/channels/sometimes wood and plants
cranksbaits in rocky or wooded areas, sometimes steep banks and channels
thats all my tips for now and just keep trying new stuff
