Tank Size: 150g 72x18x28
Filtration: 3 x Rena XP3
Other Equipment: 2 x Hydor 300w In-line Heater, 2 x Powerheads, 1 x Airstone and getting an In-line UV Sterilizer
Water Paramters: pH 7.8 | GH 304ppm | KH 215ppm
Tankmates: 7 x Clown Loaches, 1 Zig Zag Eel (and maybe a school of rainbows?)

Given the water parameters (hard water I know but I can keep it stable!) and the tankmates would discuss work? I'm thinking because of the height of the 150g it would be a perfect tank for them.

Would be looking at local MN breeders first, then if needed local US breeders. What would be a good number to get as juvies and have them grow out together?

Tank setup below - I wouldn't be having live plants in this tank.

Are you looking to get Juvi discus or adults? As posted earlier, start off with a group of 6. I highly suggest getting rid of the sand and going bare bottom because it improves the water quality so much when the tank is bare bottom. Tank mates look fine but are you sure the eel can handle temperatures in the mid to upper 80s? Discus need to be kept in temps of 82-86, make sure the eel and loachs can handle the temps. If you want a nice schooling fish, I suggest getting a group of Cardinals.
