Do you give your fish "toys"? I've read some people give floating balls or other toys for fish to keep them from getting bored I was wondering if anyone here does and what fish with what toys

I had a couple little plastic plant pots floating around in the tank when I first rescued my Oscar. He would spend hours bashing them around, dragging them to the bottom then chasing them up to the top etc.. now he's in the 5ft tank with a few birchirs and synos etc he's not as interested in toys

I have an adult male midas that flies solo in a 90 gallon, no other option as he's one of those fish that just doesn't play nice with other fish. To help keep him mentally stimulated I added a Kong dog toy to his tank last year. He beats it up pretty good when he's in a pissy mood, pushes it from one end of the tank to the other when he's just messing around, and when I perform water changes I bat it back & forth with him using the end of my python. Underwater ping pong with a midas, it's pretty funny.

I bought one of those big fake bamboo vines from petsmart. Its like 3ft long with lots of branches. My Oscar likes to uprooot it from the gravel, push it around, and swim through the leaves.

Basically anything small enough for him to move becomes a toy lol

I have a big Midas that his previous owner made toys for him from PVC tubes. When he isn't fighting his brother through the glass divider, he beats the crap out of his PVC toys. Sometimes he gets so loud banging it around the tank at night, I have to go downstairs & take it from him. I also use it to keep him from shredding my hand during water changes.

I have a dolphin mormyrid and keep ping pong balls on the bottom of tank it nudges them around and knocks them upwards
