I got a group of 4 of these "mini sized spotted driftwood cats" from rapps about 2 months ago. I am keeping them in a 29 gallon, moderatly planted tank with a very bright light. The first thing i noticed is how much they detest any form of light, they cannot stand it, they do anything to get into darkness. Second and most obvious is how sedintary they are during light hours. They will stay in the same EXACT spot for as long as there is light, days at a time. If you touch them, they dont move, its not until you practically pick them up out of their cave into the light until they dart back into their lair. They came in at about 2 inches, a little less in fact. They all found one rock cave and dog piled, or cat piled, together for 2 days even with the lights off. They would not eat for about two weeks, even with impecable water quality. My conclusion with these fish is that they are one of the fish that take longest to aclimate to their enviroment. It takes about a month for them to get used to it, and start swimming around but only after lights out. Now they eat flakes that fall to the bottom. They are peculiar little fish now that they are getting used to the tank, after the lightz are out they leave their spots two at a time to feed, they do this almost religiously. They also perch themselves on my amzn sword with just their heads covered by another leaf, they seem to like plant cover more than rock or driftwood cover. They just chill in my elodea, and all my plants even if their in the light now. Very rare fish, no info on them online, its been a learning experience with these fish and i would love to get a breeding pair of them to coninue their growth in the hobby.

They do look like mini-jags! What size are they currently?

If you willed, it'd be great to submit your pics to be considered for Planet Catfish's Cat-elog. They have no live pics in the currect data+care sheet.

I know, they have 2 pictures of dried up dead ones. One is about 2.5 inches and the others are 1.75

Thanks. Sorry about another senseless post but I must repeat - they are awefully cute.

if you want them to breed put pvc pipes in the tank, i had a female lay eggs in one but sadly i didn't have a male to fertalize them
