I found someone that wants to get rid of 2 of these guys. I dont know much about them and was wondering if anyone knew anything? Anything will help..

wood cat... well they hide alot, get about 5-7 inches max, feed them worms, shrimp, pellets...anything..... just your normal catfish care.

what r the main differences between the two?

Think your confusing two different fish here, with quite a bit of difference in size as adult.

Trachelyopterus insignis

Trachycorystes trachycorystes
how am i confusing the 2??? i believe i gave the correct size for the trachycorystes insignis, which is the one he is referencing to.
but I've been wrong here before....

Well considering Trachycorystes insignis isnt even a valid sp, quoting a size for it may be a little confusing . if you read my reply properly it is easy to see the confusion.:)

I got a picture from the owner.... What is it?

It doesnt look like either of the two types...

Not even talking about the size, was talking about the names, and you quoting sizes of fish that dont exist. Read the names PROPERLY. Trachcorystes insignis is just a mixture of Trachycorystes trachycorystes and Trachyelyopterus insignis, that why i said that there was some confusion.

I believe i know what confused this whole thing up.. once again the common name, how surprising. oh well whats new
