Trade-in policy for Petsmart/Petco?

Hey y'all I was wondering if Petsmart/Petco has a trade-in policy. If so, is it 100% payback, 50%, 20% or what? Just want to know this since I want to trade my female copadichromis/stigmatochromis for a peacock cichlid at petco, since their 3-4 inch peacocks are REALLY cheap (like 10 bucks).

Around here you can only relinquish fish no trade in or anything

Normally they will take fish if there is a tank to put them in. Also most won't buy or trade.

Mine will not buy fry from people under 18. They think we are just annoying kids who will contaminate their tanks. I don't think they are allowed to anyway, but how they treat me when I am browsing the fish section is "Are you looking for something for your 5-gallon tank". My greeting can not be printed. Anyway, bottom line is they will buy.

I've never heard of any Petco or Petsmart doing trade ins or credit for fish. Only returns.

As someone else has said, just call them and ask lol. That'll be the easiest way to confirm either way.

In my dealings with them they will take in fish if they have room/ not buy them. Also said would by fry for store credit.

I saw a bucket of 6-8 inch oscars at my petsmart once but otherwise I’m pretty sure they don’t do trade ins by me. Probably based on location to a degree though.
