I am thinking of getting rid of my red devil (About 4") and getting a small 2-3" oscar i am a little over packed, but i can't afford a bigger tank. i am slowly downsizing. The thing is, the tank is boring the crap out of me, and i want to get some new life in it.

So: Toss RD for oscar-
good
bad
or the same

Also, the rd is a female and breeds with a 6" parrot, no haching, angry fish, something always dies. even when not breeding, the RD is a little b!tch. my 2" parrot is afraid to come out of its cave

I've never had an Oscar but do have an RD and they are great, mean suckers with great personality mine is by no means boring. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

The closest ive ever come to keeping an oscar, was a 15" oscar that the lfs didn't want. I was going to hold it overnight and get it tio my science teachers 125, it tried to eat my bicher. So, i really havent kept one, but some nice looking ones are comming up, (even a healthy wal-mart one), and the red devil is getting on my nerves.

keep the RD, especially if she's a mean little b!tch! Put a divider in there, then you could see how aggressive and crazy she really gets. It wont be boring anymore. ;)
my Male RD "SHAFT" always tries to fight the the pair of jewel cichlids on the other side.
At one point he even adopted some of their fry for about a week, and then ate em
